I would like to say a word of thanks for the wonderful stay my parents had with you last Sunday and Monday night as they were away to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They have not stopped talking about the lovely time they had staying in your hotel and how lovely and obliging all staff were. They couldn't believe how beautiful their room was and have highly recommended your hotel to all friends and family. I just wanted to thank you for being so nice to them and making there stay so memorable. They're already talking about going back.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here just a few short weeks ago and already i would love to go back. This hotel has everything, its centrally located, next door there is an atm ,across the road Kilkenny Castle, around the corner the shopping street. Pubs everywhere but once your inside you don't even notice all the hustle and bustle going on out side.
Rooms are tastefully decorated, did not find one bit of dirt in the room, the beds were HUGE and so comfortable! Bathroom was spotlessly clean, and was kept that way the whole weekend by their wonderful staff, shower was lovely and relaxing, bath was very small though, only downside to this hotel!
Our room looked out over the busy street, and I have to say we didn't find it that bad, I am a heavy sleeper, but my partner isn't and he slept just fine with everything that was going on outside.
The Jacobs Cottage Restraunt was lovely, staff were so helpful, food was amazing (breakfasts and dinner) and I am very picky with foods too so its not often I say that! I can still taste the dinner!
It rained in Kilkenny all weekend, being from Dublin I am used to it, but the hotel made up for it completely cant wait to go back, and will definitely be staying there anytime I visit and recommending it to everyone.

Just have to put fingers to the key board! Stayed in your hotel week-end gone, in the Penthouse Suite, and just a word of thanks.   We had such a great time, everything was absolutely gorgeous, and your staff were so attentive and helpful. Room Service was second to none, stay in hotels very frequently, and The Hibernian is top of my list, food piping hot and exactly the way we expressed the food to be prepared. Only thing was, no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, just a thought.

We stayed for two nights just before Christmas. Family of four in a penthouse suite. The room was beautiful, jacuzzi tub, high ceilings. Front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations, directions etc.
We got a very reasonable rate of 150Euros/ night, which included parking, taxes and breakfast for four. Our first morning, jet lagged we woke up late and called down at 9:58 worried that we missed breakfast. We did, but they still offered to send up a tray with a continental breakfast. It was a HUGE assortment of yogurts, granola, toast, croissants, muffins, cereal, fruit, milk juice, coffee and tea. Unbelievable!
We were facing the parking garage, Yes we could hear the noise downstairs, but it was more like a distant dull roar than disturbing to us.
We would definitely stay there again if we are lucky enough to go back to Kilkenny!

I have been staying here for several years to attend the local Goresbridge Horse Sales, I was a chance caller originally but now always stay here when in the area. The level of genuine service is second to none, the reception staff have always remembered me from year to year ( and they do seem to stay!) and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. I am a veteran of many hotel stays from Dubai through the US and most of the UK, indeed my career has allowed me to stay at the best the hotel industry can offer but I would never stay anywhere else in Kilkenny. Being a single female traveller can (still) be fraught but whether taking a drink in the bar or requesting Room Service (happily provided from Jacobs Cottage menu) the staff can do no more. Yes, the rooms are a little tired but always immaculate and clean, the furnishings are timeless so this is less of an issue. The location is superb for shopping in Kilkenny and some very good restaurants (try Pordylos and Cafe Sol -both excellent) but most importantly the Hibernian has this enveloping feeling of being at home in a hotel.

Lovely hotel, beautiful room great staff. Only drawback was could not sleep because of noise from Morrisons and from the street below.
Lovely girl at reception. She was helpful in everyway. I would gladly have her on my reception team any day. Still, to be fair all the staffs are 5-star. They all seem happy to be working here, which is always a good sign.
